Please help with laying Baqua map..

⊆ May 12th, 2008 by Louise Marie | ˜ 1 Comment »

Hi,

My new studio space is a elongated rectangular second floor,  facing west. Also my front door -gorgeous heavy glass- opens to spacious open-concept stairs, with a large landing mid-stairs, starting/opening in the W then continuing to be topped in the N wall (centre)by a lattice gate(keeps shop-kitties in & safe) surrounded by a mini-wall or 4′ half-wall. I have a roomy display area in the N-NE where the stairs arise from through the floor(mid-N). This ends at the bathroom wall. Bathroom is NE corner.

On the second floor (my business is a second and third floors business with the west-facing door on main street level.) I have a huge sunny bay window that faces west and the back of the studio has stairs in a ‘c’ shape going to third floor is rising in the S-SE …lge Bathroom in NE corner…Mirrored L-shaped hallway in E leading to an enclosed added-on porch-room is in the SE.  Our back windows face E and 2 fire escape doors(1 on 2nd flr and one on 3rd floor lead to rooftop patio in the E. Patio is on 2nd floor door on second is from the added on  enclosed patio-room.

Any different methods I’ve read about laying basic baqua map give me totally opposite info.

I notice your directional map has North as the front of the house. Where do I start to lay the map. I assume I simply use directions?? I just moved in and need some kind of wisdom here, I’m so confused, I want to use your way of mapping, I love your site:-)

Trying hard!!

Oh and I love my electric insert in the old fireplace in the S-SW. building is 1939 on a busy character-filled street with a sidestreet where the sun sets …coming to my main street like a T, thank you my clients and I are very looking forward to your help!!

Sacred Humanitarian Moon: May 20

The first three full moons after the spring equinox, the new year for Mother Earth, are said to be sacred. The first is the Cristo Moon on March 21, the Buddha Moon is on April 20, and the Humanitarian Moon is May 20.

The Humanitarian Moon in Gemini is also known as the Festival of Goodwill. From spiritual, astrological teachings, it is the time for Light Workers and Spiritual Healers to invoke blessings to all sentient beings. Make a difference to the planet and mankind by meditating on unifying the energy of the Cristo and Buddha Moons for peace. Use the Humanitarian Moon to help you bring more love to yourself and others from May 20 until the next Humanitarian Moon.

Special full moons for creating abundance

The first three full moons after the spring equinox, the new year for Mother Earth, are said to be sacred. The first is the Cristo Moon on March 21, the Buddha Moon is on April 20, and the Humanitarian Moon is May 20. The Cristo Moon in Aries is also known as the Festival of Resurrections. From spiritual, astrological teachings, through meditation on this “high voltage day,” you benefit with energetic forces that align to the cosmic will to support “resurrection” for new beginnings. Use the Cristo Moon to jump start all your projects from March 21 until the next Cristo Moon.

Make sure you get your RSS feed so you learn about the Buddha and Humanitarian Moons when I post more info about them!

Breakdown or Breakthrough?

⊆ March 31st, 2008 by Jami | ˜ No Comments »

This article is dedicated to all my angels especially Teresa and Lore who were the magic that showed up

With ColorAlchemy at the printer and my excitement that each page is a full color, work of art, I started introducing “my baby” to my international contacts.

Outlook (email software) crashed and I not only lost ALL my foreign contacts, I lost 2 years of notes, email addresses, and all other things I thought that were worth saving. Two hours with my computer wizard resulted in “GONE!”

Lesson #1: Back it up!

Lesson #2: I was reminded about musings from the past in my “Do what you can do” article. Enjoy the article (link) as I am not repeating those insightful thoughts. Now, years later, the lessons are karmically the same but with a higher vibration. Intuitive guidance comes instantaneously. I’d like to believe that this is due through enjoying the ease of ColorAlchemy.

Lesson #3: I had choices. I could allow myself to be drenched in the negative aspects of Red (each color has yin/yang aspects) and “breakdown” or I could make a conscious choice. Breathing Green and Indigo, I made a commitment to catch myself when I realized that “something else” was gone. I committed to being receptive of what opportunities and insights would open through not being attached to “the past.” Within seconds, I was rewarded.

Here is the breakthrough. I heard (absorbing what you hear) that old paradigms now longer are effective. They are gone for the purpose of mitigating suffering (and emulating Sisyphus) while “trying” to control the way I think what will create happiness.

Then, I recalled several magic moments that happened just a few days before. Through giving my time, unconditionally, and without a thought of exchange, two new friends divinely “showed up.” They both shared two fantastic opportunities that I never would have known about, have thought of, or had been invited to. What amazing gifts and I’ll invite you as they evolve.

The old adage, “let go and let god,” has never been clearer.

I don’t remember another time in my life when everyone was faced with so many challenges, so I’ll share my new purpose with the intention that you may benefit too. When you “live to love” instead of “living to work,” happiness is found in the moment. Taking action on the magic that shows up is what manifests reward without sacrificing any aspect of mind, body, and spiritual balance.

Now, to just remember when I freak on auto-pilot with the negative aspects of Red (through my old conditioning). Breath Green and Indigo to strengthen love and intuition. Now, I am off to the gym to strengthen my body, I think I’ll wear Red for the energy to kick some of my ass! ;-)

Bathroom above the heart center of your home

⊆ March 15th, 2008 by CareyG | ˜ 1 Comment »

Hi Jami,

I have a friend who’s bathroom is above the heart Center/Overall Wellness area of her home. I wanted to know what you would suggest for a remedy for this situation. I made suggestions in her heart center based on the bagua and flying stars and also recommended a round faceted crystal, but wanted to know if there is a specific remedy for having the bathroom located above this area? Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. Thanks, Carey

Convert ‘for sale’ into ’sold’

Here’s an article that features some of my tips for staging a house for sale.

Normally I write about buying things. This week I’m writing about selling _ your home that is. I’m saddened to see friends’ homes linger on the real estate market when, with just a little effort, they could appeal to a wider audience. Just as a retailer needs to merchandise its goods effectively to attract buyers, so do home owners who are looking to sell. In real estate terms I’m talking about staging your home.

If you’re lucky to have a real estate agent with a sense of design, she may stage the home for you. If not, find a professional home stager at www.stagedhomes.com. Shop around and ask for referrals. Prices can vary greatly depending on the market, size of house and services provided. Some home stagers will apply that fee toward the actual staging of your home. The goal here is to not spend money on more things; find a stager who will work with what you already have or lend their own props to you.

For tips on doing it yourself, I turned to two pros from the Comfort Council (www.comfortcouncil.com) a Web site offering design and living tips. Both Debbie Zimmer a color expert and Jami Lin who provides Feng Shui guidance agreed the most important thing is a buyer’s first impression. Hoses and garbage cans should be out of sight. Paint the front door. The landscaping should be manicured. And “paint the area that the front door opens into,” Zimmer says, “a potential home purchase will make their decision very quickly.”

I was hoping to find a Feng Shui cure for homes that won’t sell but it’s not magic; rather one of the most basic principles of Feng Shui is that decluttering improves the flow of energy or chi. Think your home is clutter free? Think again. Visit a homebuilder’s model home in your area and see how yours compares. Then make changes. Beyond cleaning up, Lin says, “People don’t like to take their artwork (or accessories) down but artwork is very personal. Even if you think it is nondescript, don’t make assumptions. The more vanilla you can make a space the better it can be.”

Vanilla is just the term to describe an interior, which will appeal to the largest segment of buyers. Whites, beige, creams, allow buyers to picture their own furniture and style in the room. If you can invest in one change, paint the interior. If finances or time allows you to do only one or two rooms Zimmer advises that you paint the kitchen and bath.

Tips to staging your own home:

_ First impressions count: Make sure the front yard and entry are impeccable.

_ Color matters: If you can invest in one change, paint the interior in a neutral color.

_ The nose knows: The only smell in your home should be a pleasantly scented candle burning.

_ Pull up the rugs: Area, hall, kitchen and bath rugs. It makes any room look bigger.

_ One item per surface: Lin’s rule of thumb is one display item per horizontal surface, like a counter or table.

The color peach

⊆ March 11th, 2008 by CareyG | ˜ 1 Comment »

Hi Jami,

I was helping my sister with her feng shui in her house and in her foyer she has the color peach. It’s a very light peach. I wanted to find out if a very light peach color would be classified under pastels. If so would it represent metal? Or does peach fall under another element. I never came across a light peach before and I want to make sure before suggesting cures for her foyer what element it should be considered. Thanks for your help.
