Feng Shui and getting Pregnant
Â
In responce to the recent blog question….
This is a Feng Shui success story written by the Mom who I “helped†get pregnant. It was published in Feng Shui Today (my first book – 1995  - that because a Book-of-the-Month-Club selection.) Often I tell the story of what I did in my lectures as a profound learning tool as the techniques include many of the simple basics that you can learn through my site and Training Program.
I had recently become familiar with the principles of Feng Shui and was curious as to how I could implement said design in our living quarters. Late in 1994, on a recommendation, I had phoned Jami to arrange a consultation regarding my desire to update the decor of my tower suite condominium. However, with Jami finishing up the last details of her book, and with the impending holidays, we jointly decided to postpone our meeting until after the start of the new year.
Well, as often happens in life, I had released my obsession with creating space and moving Chi and was now obsessing on a more familiar agenda: the quest of my husband and I to conceive a child. As anyone familiar with protocol knows, the demanding schedule of an invitro-fertilization can be tedious, stress-filled, and immensely time consuming. We did however, join an internationally acclaimed astrologer for a seminar on meditation and the power of Jungian group thought.
During the workshop, she led us on an imaginary journey to Japan. After instructing us all in the ways of meditation and journeying, we were left to our own devices. As I was a touch skeptical, regarding the validity of such an exercise, imagine my surprise when I imagined myself right into a luxuriously appointed sacred temple, being escorted by two wizened monks to the temple elder who informed me that I may asked him one question.
My preoccupation with my faulty fertility precluded any other agenda, yet; as I struggled to mine the perfect words, this incredibly encouraging and strictly specific communique came from this beautiful being. He said, “Do not fret so. The child is near and will be home soon. You must be more patient, as this will surely be. You must prepare the child’s space, and there is one who will be helpful here.”
Now, suspending disbelief, let me reiterate, that I had buried my notions of redecorating, so imagine my shock as he then informed me, “You must contact Jami Lin. She is the facilitator to help create this environment. Even if she does nothing else in your home, she must help prepare for this child.” And, poof, he was gone, and I was shown the way out and back to the point where the journey had originated.
I’m sure by now, you’ve guessed the rest. Jami Lin, designer, decorator extraordinaire, came, saw and conquered. Her talent combined with her extremely honed intuitive ability led me to make some decorative changes that I would have never imagined. Even taken back at some of her suggestions, I remembered my mystical moments and believed in her magic. Since the day Jami whooshed through my door, all energy and light, the Chi has been flowing, abundance abounds, and yes, I am pregnant!
Now, you ask, do I honestly believe there was a Buddha being whispering words of divinations to my psyche? Hmm…. Do I believe that it was Jami who single handedly reversed our lot? Hmm…. Would I do it all again? In an ultrasound heartbeat.
Thank you Great Spirit, thank you for Jami, and her innovative, powerful Earth Designs.
