Magic Moments can last a whole day: Olieda Park
I work almost every day. Even if I take Saturday or Sunday off, I always reply to my emails to make sure students are doing all right. On a recent Saturday, the day was too beautiful, too magical to stay indoors. I suggested that Joel and I go on a picnic. Looking for the best spot, we both said Olieda Park at the same time.
The park costs $5 to get in, but on this magical day, they waved us right in. We enjoyed delicious treats with views of the bay with sounds of birds and the warm breeze. All of a sudden, we heard a really good band in the distance. We took a walk around the park and grooved to the tunes. As we walked, there was a park ranger was giving a lecture on butterflies. There were butterflies everywhere. Just moments before our arrival he released thousands of butterflies.
As if getting into the park for free, having a beautiful picnic, and standing in the middle of butterfly heaven wasn’t enough, we wanted to see the band that created the boogie mood. As we got closer, we saw tents that displayed local flora and fauna including two Florida panthers! Wow, all we wanted was a picnic which was magical enough–what we unexpectedly got was Olieda’s 25th anniversary party!
Did we have a magical moment that lasted all day? You bet! To complete the perfect day, we had wine and cookies for dinner!

Magical Gifts and Magical Moments
With more than 15 years of Feng Shui site or phone consultations, I still never know what is going to happen. Without expectation, I open my heart to receive and share everything that a house reveals to me. Even on first meetings, very often I have profound magic moments. I feel that this is a fortunate gift to see people’s intimacies through the energy of their floor plans (phone consult) or home (on-site). I feel that this is a very fortunate gift to provide the right help very quickly.
While every consultation is individual to the property, its history, the house, and its loved ones, the integration of these skills often uncovers hidden, deep-seated, core issues and/or intimate family professional difficulties, or health concerns. Jami teaches you how to quickly expose the root of these challenges and provides the most important Feng Shui suggestions to make positive change.
For example: While a house or floor plan starts telling the story as soon as I experience it and I immediately provide Feng Shui/Interior Design solutions, I also get glimpses of unseen issues. As the clues unfold, there is usually one thing that unravels my suspicions. There is a magical moment where the flying star energies, the architecture, the energy of the occupants, and/or personal accessories come together to reveal the secret. I think that I am always more amazed than my client with this Feng Shui detail when they confirm their stomach problem, their insecurity because of “mother issues,†they feel trapped in their marriage, or they got passed on a job promotion because of boss conflicts, etc.
Remember, I’ve never met them before! How would I know these things? It blows me away to receive this knowing. Internally, I acknowledge the magic moment and am thankful to be blessed with this “hidden†information so I can provide them the right tools to resolve them.
I am kind and empathetic knowing a person’s issues as I believe that deep down, in their heart-of hearts, they already know their truth. As the messenger, I just help bring issues to the surface. This moment validates my abilities for the client (yeah). More importantly, the observation identifies the REAL issues to immediately start on its resolution using Feng Shui as a healing tool!
These are always amazing magic moments! It is more likely to see “hidden issues†when a client has occupied the space for a while it takes time for house energies to merge with its occupants and vice versa.
Yesterday’s consultation magic moment really blew me away!
I often do consults even before a home is built or before a contract is signed. That way, I help fine tune the architecture layout to maximize the homes’ raw Feng Shui (before enhancing with color, furniture placement, accessories, etc.) or in a purchase/rent situation, I help a client make choices on if the raw Feng Shui is acceptable. (It is always better to have good raw FS and enhance than have bad raw FS that you have to remedy. Fixing bad FS never provides as good potential as enhancing good FS. While this seems obvious to me, it is still amazing how many people call me after they make unchangeable, house decisions and want me to “fix it,†when it is far better to consider the raw FS prior to making costly decisions.)
Back to the Magic Moment
David sent me his plans to review prior to them being finalized. Smart! No house has perfect Feng Shui but the synergy between David, his wife, and the architect created brilliant, intuitive, almost perfect Feng Shui. I was so excited. His bad natal-flying-star energies were neatly trapped in closets, while the kitchen, bedrooms, and home office were located in good locations, everybody’s bed was facing good directions–excellent Feng Shui!
What magic could top that? Even though David and his wife won’t live there for another two years (permit/construction process), I saw there was a possibility that his wife might have health challenges while living there. I asked if she has current physical weakness. He told me she is a breast cancer survivor. (Retrospectively and to provide you with an advanced FS tip: I saw that if she did have health issues, it was “chest relatedâ€(based on she was a Kua 7 and position of the flying stars ). I was so happy to know that she was heathy now….but I saw it!
The magic moment for me was to been shown past health issues through a home that wasn’t even built yet and to be grateful to provide solutions to reduce the possibility for recurrence.

A magical moment is profound: My Magical Moment with Rose
I teach an anti-stress, anti-aging class and “Rose†consistently comes. She is always smiling and participates with kind, enlightening things to share. A few weeks ago she said, “I clearly know what makes me happy and if something will not make me happy, I won’t do it.†Her tone was so committed and confident that her passion was present in my thoughts. I wanted a piece of that!
At the end of our next class, I privately asked for her secret. With my promise that I wouldn’t ever reveal her name, I was gifted. She said, ever since she was a little girl, her mom made her stand in front of the mirror, look herself straight in the eye and say, “I am the prettiest, I am the smartest, I am the sweetest, (and I added) I am the most fortunate girl in the whole world. There is no one better than me Rose Adams!†(You have to say your name.)
“Some days,†she said, “I’d laugh or I’d cry because I didn’t have the confidence to do it, but mom wouldn’t allow me to leave the mirror I said it…and believed it! Over the years, if I went to mom with a question, mom said, go to the mirror.†To this day, when Rose has a question, she goes to the mirror to get her answers.
Â
When I look at Rose, she is the prettiest, the smartest, the sweetest, and the most fortunate girl in the whole world, in addition to ME. Through Rose’s example of being pretty, smart, sweet, and fortunate, in a magical moment, I learned a transformational secret for that, I am forever humble and grateful.
As I am never allowed to reveal “her†name, I wasn’t to honor mom, her name is Rose.
A magical moment can be a doubly simple and profound..more Rose!
Inspired by Rose’s secret, I went to a housewares store to buy a small mirror. I wanted to place it next to my computer to always have “myself to talk to.†I aborted the purchase when the only one I saw magnified so that I could see the inside of my brains through my pores: no thank you!
I wanted to bring Rose a thank-you gift to the next class. Ah, a rose would be perfect to honor “Rose†and her mother.
As I gave the rose to Rose, she went inside her bag and handed me a wrapped gift. Inside was a 2-inch mirror that Rose decorated with rhinestones with a note that said, “Remember Jami Lin, you are the smartest, the prettiest, and so on…â€
Magic moments may be a series of magical events…this one sure was!
A magical moment can be a triply simple, profound, and on-going: Rose, on that same day.
To not have the other students question the rose and to protect her anonymity (as promised), the day being close to Valentine’s day, I bought a bunch of carnations and gave one to everyone. Another student coincidently surprised us with chocolates and everyone was loved and in love.
That’s magical.
Every day I teach this class it is magical. But this day was exceptional. When I happened to mentioned that I don’t teach the class for the money. (I teach for the richness of what I learn and the special bond we developed with each other.) Ruth said, “I can’t believe that we get you for free (the students do not pay).†Touched by the comment, tears welled in my eyes and the students, my friends, had an outpouring of love. At that moment, we all understood that value for each other was way beyond money or words. It filled me more than “typically full†with the love shared in this class.
Was this contagious magic moment because of Rose’s training? I’d like to think that it was and she was enjoying the magic moment from heaven.

Magic Moments help you survive during poopie times
We all have moments when we question ourselves. Depending on life’s ups and downs, sometimes we need a little courage and strength to stand up tall during challenging times. The song “If you are going through hell†by Rodney Akins helps me get un-poopie (yes, being human, I get poopie). While I consistently practice “half full†instead of “half empty†(http://www.ColorAlchemy.com helps!), when I recognize my unsupportive emotion, I breathe the color most appropriate and immediately “stand tall.â€
On a recent trying-to-stand-tall occasion, as I got into my car, flipped on the tunes and Rodney was loudly singing his inspiration, “If you are going through hell don’t slow down, if you’re scared don’t show it, keep on moving, face the fire, walk right through it, you might get out before the devil even knows you are there.†Ah, a full body rush filled of confirmation!

Here’s another simple Magic Moment full of gratitude
  Â
Driving on the expressway, right in front of me, a patio chair flew out of the pickup truck right in front of me. The magic moment was recognizing the good fortune of not having a disaster at 60 mpg. So grateful!

A magical moment is simple and profound
I was driving and noticed a Rolls Royce, hood up, on the side of the road with an obvious mechanical problem. Immediately, I thought, my car may not be so luxurious, but I am the one that has working transportation! Recognizing that even with “regular wheels,†I am so lucky to not be standing in the road, in the heat, waiting for the tow truck! Acknowledge the gratitude! Be joyful to be “on your way!â€

Magic Moments are simple, in the moment and wonderful!
I was driving with the windows rolled up and air condition on. All of a sudden, I heard a sneeze that could have shaken the earth. In the car next to me, the driver was looking at me with a sheepish grin, seemingly embarrassed with his momentous sound. Gesundheit I yelled as he and his buddy simultaneously gave me the thumbs-up and ear-to-ear smiles. I laughed, they laughed, and in those fun, few seconds, a magic moment was created. Acknowledging the feeling provides awareness and gratitude for the simple pleasures of life such for being the catalyst of a smile. Â Â Â Â Â
A magic moment can happen by yourself too. Listening to the radio, reading a book, or even having inspiring thoughts, the awareness of how you are emotionally touched creates a magic moment. Stop, acknowledge the moment, and be grateful for the gift you felt something special.

Welcome!
