Ego & Balance

I am fascinated by how learning and how inspiration happens at expected times. ColorAlchemy has trained me to be aware of these moments by paying attention to my mental process. By observing my thoughts when experiencing “everything,” I often receive profound revelations about myself.

While sometimes painful, I celebrate these moments with sincerest gratitude. I learn so much about myself through the commonality of our human frailties.

Even though I prefer dancing, I tried a Power Yoga class. We did a lot of balancing postures. Comfortable in a position, I was able to hold steady without having to concentrate. My mind wandered about a current challenge. (The mundane details are not as important as the insightful lesson.) As soon as I thought “I’ll show him,” I lost my balance!

What’s the lesson? When ego is involved, you loose your balance.

Think about it. Whenever negative emotions engage your ego, mental clarity is lost. You may say, do, or THINK something that is not in your loving nature and your equilibrium, specific to the actual circumstance, is compromised.

I know that life’s challenges will always include keeping my ego in check and “standing in love” is an important lesson to remember when I loose balance.

One thing I learned from years of working with Feng Shui and ColorAlchemy students/clients is that while we all think different thoughts, our needs, desires, and concerns that trigger our emotions are primarily the same. I hope that by using myself as an example, my stories help you to pay attention to what you learn from yourself.
