Which colorscheme should I choose?

I’m new to fengshui and I really want to get things right. I’m having a hard time getting my color scheme of the house right. As you walk in through the front door you can see parts of four areas and upper/lower hallways. I’ve always been drawn to autumn or earth colors but the color suggestions for each room seem “choppy” and don’t appear to flow or match my tastes. How should I choose?
